Damn! Toxic Bunny was a long time ago…
Since then, game development in South Africa has gone from strength to strength. In fact today, it’s A LOT bigger than many of us realise, with the universally acclaimed indy masterpiece Broforce serving as a “coming out party” of sorts for the local industry.
In between our streaming duties, the GhostZA Stream Team managed to grab some footage of this incredible panel discussion at E.G.E, which discussed the shifting landscape of the South African game developer industry.
We do — somewhat sincerely — apologise for the shoddy quality and the incomplete nature of the clip. The discussion sort of crept up on us whilst we were busy with other responsibilities and thus, we didn’t have ample time to prepare.
However, in addition to air horns, Snoop Dogg and a lot of Star Wars influence in our edits, this video also features some of SA gaming’s greatest driving forces. These are the people who put effort into creating a climate in which actual South Africans can look forward to a fruitful and rewarding career in actual video games.
