A year after releasing their low-latency lightspeed technology, aimed at affluent gamers, Logitech has unveiled the G305. The G305 has a much more affordable pricing of $60, compared to their other models; the G703 and G603. And even though this is a mid-tier mouse, no compromise on lag is to be made.
As for looks, you can see, it is not very pretty, and looks a bit ordinary (only six-buttons :)), but with the 12,000 DPI Hero sensor, it’s promising to be as responsive as its other more expensive counterpart.
Availability – Worldwide in May. Colours are back and white variants. With nothing fancy about it, like no RGB lighting or exuberant amount of buttons, Logitech still reckons this is part of the appeal. This mouses minimalistic design, is for people (gamers) who are only concerned about the performance and not the status.
How long it lasts depends on how much you value that all-out performance. Use the G305 at full performance and you can expect 250 hours (aka just over 10 days) of continuous input with an AA battery. If you’re willing to dial back to an 8ms report rate, though, you can stretch the battery life to nine months.
So, there you have it, a mid-tier mouse, focused on performance and not on the “bling” (extra lighting, buttons and fancy designs) , saving you moola in your pocket.
